Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Romanée is the most exotic wine in the cellar, revealing aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, mandarin, Meyer lemon and subtle nutmeg. On the palate, it's full-bodied, satiny and complete, with striking amplitude and texture that's underpinned by racy acids, still youthfully reserved in profile despite its obvious scale and concentration and concludes with a long and pure finish. It's a great La Romanée in the making.

The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet La Romanée 1er Cru has the most intense bouquet from Lamy’s range, scents of orange zest, white peach and paw-paw. The palate is well balanced with a slightly honeyed opening and a fine thread of acidity. However, I just seek a little more substance on the final one-third of the wine that misses the tension of the Les Caillerets.
