Heavy reduction and copious wood make for a very difficult nose. However, the very rich, round, opulent and suave medium weight plus flavors possess excellent dry extract levels that buffer the very firm tannins on the attractively enduring finish. This possesses fine potential despite being youthfully awkward today. Drink: 2021+

Very dark crimson. An unusual depth of colour for a 2009. Exotically voluptuous and heady. Sweet and easy. Then slightly jagged tannins kick in. Needs quite a bit of time, for this is only just evolving. (JR)
