A discreet touch of wood sets off the strikingly spicy and very pretty mix of various red berry fruit aromas that are liberally laced with hoisin, soy and anise. The wood is also present on the refined yet tautly muscled flavors that are again supple on the mid-palate and mildly edgy on the finish though here it seems more certain that the edginess will round out.
