Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2013 Charmes Chambertin Grand Cru, which is blended with Mazoyères, has a precise, stony, wild hedgerow-scented bouquet that unfolds with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with sorbet-like freshness on the entry - such an animated Charmes-Chambertin in the making. There is impressive weight here but it retains superb finesse on the fig-tinged finish. This is a consummate Charmes-Chambertin.

(half Charmes and half Mazoyères, from two sources): Deep red. Wild red fruits and oak on the nose. Densely packed and chewy, conveying terrific sappy intensity to its urgent red cherry and raspberry fruit flavors. A compellingly fruity, fresh style of Charmes with a firm tannic spine to support a graceful evolution in bottle.
