Bright red-ruby. Very ripe aromas and flavors of black cherry, dark raspberry and licorice are lifted by a violet topnote. Dense, sappy and quite concentrated, with its slightly liqueur-like ripeness leavened by good energy. This chewy, somewhat aggressive village wine is just this side of roasted, finishing with rather powerful tannins. Perhaps a bit of drought stress here.

Near Clos de la Bussière in Morey. Planted in mid 20th century. 20% new oak. Pure, sweet fruit. Really very rich and informed by old vines. Lots of sweet cherry fruit. Bright and fresh. (JR)
