The 2022 Chablis La Moutonne Grand Cru has closed down a little on the nose, touches of yellow plum, cumin and light waxy aromas. It unfolds nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with a keen line of acidity. Linear in style, and more delicate than the Les Clos tasted alongside with a nuanced finish. Maybe I would ask it to be less discrete?

95% Vaudesir and 5% Preuses. Just 25% in old oak for 11 months before blending and finishing in stainless steel. Tank sample. Surprisingly ripe nose. Though deep-breathing reveals some of the stony character and fine acidity. Chalky finish. Vibrant. (JR)
