Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Beaune 1er Cru Greves has a very attractive redcurrant and cranberry-scented bouquet that blossomed in the glass (whilst we were discussing the Trump election!). The palate is well balanced with crisp tannin, nicely structured and focused with the 100% whole cluster fruit barely recognizable on the finish. This is a superb Beaune Greves.

(100% vendange entier ; 255 new oak; from vines on heavier soil averaging 50 years of age): Bright red. Complex aromas of cherry, raspberry, smoke and earth lifted by a mineral topnote. Youthfully tight and classically dry, showing alluring inner-mouth floral lift to its red fruit flavors. Not a fleshy or sweet style but concentrated and deep. Finishes long and perfumed, with serious but ripe tannins. A very impressive Beaune wine in the making.

100% whole bunch, 25% new oak. Bright crimson. Very aromatic with some aristocratic sinew. Firm and well sculpted. All structure rather than fruit at present. (JR)
