Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2021 Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru has some reduction on the nose, although transferring between glasses alleviates some of that, revealing a slightly petrolly character. The palate is fresh on the entry but sags in the middle and lacks the same personality or sense of terroir expression as its peers. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

Cask sample. Quite marked struck-match nose – unusual nowadays! Fun with lots of tension but fully ripe fruit too. Chalky, textured finish. I'd never turn this down … but I wouldn't buy it. (JR)
