Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Jean 1er Cru is very tight on the nose with flint and chalk aromas reluctantly showing their faces. The palate is pretty with touches of tangerine and apricot on the entry, a fine bead of acidity, harmonious with an elegant finish.

More reserved than the Chassagne-Montrachet Village, Moreau's 2019 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jean is promising, mingling aromas of pear, white flowers, buttery pastry and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and tangy, it's nicely balanced, with a tightly wound core and chalky back-end grip.

Tank sample. More restrained than the village Chassagne on the nose. Edgy and very energetic. Lots of density. Well done but very youthful. (JR)
