Here the nose is notably more complex and a bit fresher too with a very ripe mix of red currant, blue berry and cassis aromas trimmed in wet stone and spice hints that carry over to the textured medium weight flavors brimming with dry extract on the powerful and explosive finish where a touch of austerity surfaces. While not at all forward, in fact this is clearly built to age but there is so much mid-palate fat that this will be approachable young if desired.

Medium red. Blueberry, black cherry, violet, mocha and smoke on the nose, plus a whiff of underbrush. Then sweet, large-scaled and powerful in the mouth, with a velvety texture to the flavors of blackberry, black raspberry, mocha and wild herbs. Finishes with big, rich, broad tannins and lingering notes of blueberry and licorice. A bit heavy for a wine from this domain, but then it's carrying 14%.
