Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet that displays a subtle marine, oyster shell tincture. It is more backward than Ghislaine-Barthod's own Fuées, but focused and clearly delineated. The palate is well-defined and grippy, displaying a fine bead of acidity and more tannic backbone than its peers. Perhaps there was a slightly longer extraction here, leading to a more muscular finish, yet the wine is still endowed with finesse and sophistication. You’re just going to have to wait longer for it. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.

Bright, dark red. Captivating aromas of blueberry, boysenberry and dark cherry complicated by minerals and earth and lifted by a floral element. Sweet, sexy and slightly high-toned, offering impressive thickness to its dark fruit flavors. Conveys a strong impression of sappy, salty extract. FInishes youthfully medicinal and classically dry. Looks to be a strong vintage for this cuvée . Like the Clos de la Maréchale, this wine is aging in about 25% new oak.
