Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuées 1er Cru clearly possesses more complexity and terroir delineation than the Village Cru. The bouquet is very pure, offering more black fruit than red, and a little leather and game lurking in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with gentle grip on the entry, quite structured and strict at the moment, with a spicy, white-pepper-tinged finish. Fine.

Barrel sample. Utterly gorgeous Chambolle perfume – tangy red cherries and delicate peony and rose. Scented on the palate too but with a dry elegance and a juicy core. Sour-cherry bright energy on the finish. Fragrant and sure-footed, light but with the fine-boned concentration of old vines. (JH)
