Tasting Notes and Scores

90 ST

Medium red. Tangy aromas and flavors of musky raspberry and dark chocolate. Nicely fleshy in the mid-palate, but with a firm spine of acidity and minerality giving cut and lift to the wine. Finishes persistent and firm, with lovely cut.

The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny Village initially outclasses the 2009 with great delineation. Still, it never fully kicks on in the glass, and eventually, some of that burst of dark berry fruit falls away. The palate is very well defined and precise, a little drier and grittier than the 2009; compelling at first, but it just tapers away a little towards the finish. It is a lovely Chambolle though it may be that the previous vintage has the upper hand.

A ripe and airy red berry fruit nose enjoys added breadth in the form of soft floral and wet stone nuances. The palate impression of the ultra-elegant and mineral-driven flavors is cool, pure and silky and I very much like the balance as well as the sense of underlying tension. An excellent villages with fine mid-term potential. Drink: 2017+

The 2010 Chambolle-Musigny is a highly attractive wine laced with expressive red berries, flowers and spices. Delicate and understated on the palate, the Chambolle impresses for its striking inner perfume and class. The Chambolle is made from parcels in La Combe d'Orveau and Les Plantes that are vinified separately.
