The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Au Bas de Combe is a small cuvée of just three barrels (one new). The nose has exquisite delineation: a mixture of red and black fruit, quite floral, with dried violets borrowed from nearby in Vosne-Romanée. The medium-bodied palate has silky tannins, very harmonious, with dark berry fruit interlaced with white pepper and clove. Honestly, it comes across more like a Vosne than a Nuits Saint-Georges, tender and spicy on the aftertaste. Excellent.
