Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2011 Vosne-Romanée Village has a detailed bouquet with lifted blackberry and wild strawberry scents, demonstrating fine mineralité for a village cru and it opens beautifully in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannin. Maybe it is a little pinched compared to the Chambolle-Musigny as it does not have the same depth on the finish, but it is brimming of freshness. A little ingénue ! Tasted at Flint Wines Burgundy 2011 tasting.

Sweet rose petals, red berries and mint lift out of the glass in the 2011 Vosne-Romanée. An attractive, mid-weight wine, the 2011 has shut down quite a bit in bottle, so I would give it a few years to come around. Floral and savory notes reappear on the finish.

Bright, deep red. Aromas of raspberry, licorice and herbs show a slightly underripe/overripe character. Supple but a bit flat, with modest depth to the raspberry, spice and herb flavors. Finishes with easy tannins but slightly tart acidity and an intrusive green note. An awkward showing today.

Lifted nose and very marked acidity. Bit like bone-dry raspberry juice. Demanding. (JR)
