The 2017 Vosne-Romanée from Domaine Mugneret-Gibourg is all finesse. The 2017 opens very pretty, floral aromatics. Bright red-toned fruit, cinnamon, blood orange, cedar. Silky, polished tannins wrap it all together. Just starting to show the first signs of aromatic development, the 2017 is a fine choice for drinking now and over the next decade or so.

The 2017 Vosne-Romanée Village is the last vintage to include the parcel in La Colombière. It offers red cherry and crisp strawberry fruit on the tightly packed bouquet, undergrowth scents emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, smooth and velvety in the mouth, yet I find that the 2018 maybe shows a little more complexity on the finish.
