Tasting Notes and Scores
Bottled and tasted at Niellon’s new cuverie. Like the Chaumees, there is a touch of reduction on the nose which is obfuscating the terroir, although leaving the wine aside for a couple of minutes it begins to open up, offering limestone, smoke and walnut aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with very good weight, a lot of ripe fruit here, quite leesy in character with touches of spice, dried apricot and Braeburn apple towards the finish. Very fine. Tasted January 2011.

Pale, green-tinged yellow. Very sweet aromas of minerals, crushed stone and mirabelle Juicy, subtle and energetic, with lively acidity framing the flavors of minerals, white flowers and white pepper. This really saturates the mouth with flavor without leaving any impression of weight. The long, smooth finish is silky, very dry and long, with excellent grip. Strongly terroir-driven wine.
