An airy and elegant nose features aromas of herbal tea, red and black cherry, pomegranate and pretty violet hints. There is a very sleek and refined mouth feel to the lightly mineral-inflected medium weight flavors that possess good balance on the restrained, dusty and ever-so-slightly lean finish. Drink 2020+.

Bright healthy red. Ripe aromas of plum, raspberry and licorice are complicated by a whiff of tomato leaf. Plump, saline and sweet, conveying an impression of relatively high pH. Smoky, rocky minerality gives this wine its backbone. Finishes with ripe tannins and a touch of greenness.

Muted nose, but some typical burly Vougeot flavours: spicy without the cream of Clos de Vougeot itself. A characterful curiosity, but expensive for what it is. (AH)
