Tasting Notes and Scores

94 ST

Full ruby-red. Black raspberry and game aromas are sexed up by ineffable floral qualities. Wonderfully dense, thick and deep but more closed and less harmonious today in the middle than the Bonnes-Mares. In a tougher style, even a bit aggressive today, and in need of more elevage Most impressive today on the subtle whiplash of a finish. Bernstein notes that the wine's substantial tannins are very ripe.

Very dark. A little bit of oak still on the nose. Sinewy and quite polished and even a little light! Certainly not one of their densest wines. Rather pretty in terms of structure though I reserve judgment really in view of the lingering oak influence... (JR)
