Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet Clos Saint-Marc 1er Cru sports a notable reduction on the nose that currently occludes the terroir expression. The palate has good depth and is rounded and smooth. It has what feels like a higher pH than its peers, so it doesn't possess the tension and race that I would have liked. Easygoing, a little honeyed towards the finish, this is a Chassagne to drink in the near term. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
