Tasting Notes and Scores

The 2019 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a potent crème caramel scent on the nose. I attribute this to overuse of oak rather than premature oxidation. Lots of bruised apple aromas. The palate is rounded in texture, spicy and quite fiery. This feels like a Grand Cru that needs taming and does not have the sophistication of its peers. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
