Tasting Notes and Scores

90-92 WI

Deep ruby-red. Reduced but nuanced nose combines bitter cherry, leather, rose petal, brown spices and a whiff of fresh blood. Juicy, intensely flavored and sweet; very 2002 in its seamless texture and early accessibility. Intriguing notes of mocha and exotic spices. Finishes very long and aromatic, with fine tannins and noteworthy class. Showing nicely today, and probably for drinking earlier than most of Potel's other 2002 grand crus.

Wine Independent

88-90 AM

This presently displays a rather curious nose of reduction, oatmeal and yeast though the flavors are rich, forward, supple, exuberantly sappy, generous, delicious and nicely focused with good finishing persistence and solid depth. That said, it is not at the level of the best in this range of grands crus.
