Rich layers of perfumed dark red fruit blossom from the 2012 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses. The low yields of the vintage have given the 2012 a level of textural depth and a distinctly dark flavor profile that are a bit out of character for Amoureuses, yet the wine remains a model of total class. Silky, polished tannins leave a very positive and lasting impression.

Bright medium red. Slightly high-toned aromas of raspberry, minerals, smoke and spicy oak. Then tight on the palate, with raspberry, saline and sexy underbrush flavors given punch by pungent minerality. Savory, powerful, very long wine with a serious tannic backbone that will need several years in the cellar to resolve. But will it ever display the class of the best examples of Amoureuses?
