Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2014 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, picked on September 23 from the parcel in the middle of the vineyard, has a nicely defined, focused bouquet with dark berry fruit tinged with rose petals and a touch of mint. The 50% new oak is nicely integrated on the palate, well balanced and focused with good substance towards what is, at the moment, a structured and conservative finish. Give this 2-3 years.

(20% vendange entier ): Bright, dark red. Lovely pure cherry aroma lifted by spices and flowers. Suave and fine-grained, conveying excellent intensity and a restrained sweetness to the black cherry and licorice flavors. Finishes with a strong dusting of tannins and lovely lift. This wine from clay soil has a tendency to be brutal in the early going, notes Nadine Gublin, but this rather classic Clos Vougeot avoids hardness.
