Notes of cassis, black truffle and loamy soil introduce the 2018 Corton Grand Cru, a full-bodied, rich and layered wine that's youthfully chewy and structured. As readers will remember, this comes from Les Meix and Les Chaumes, lieux-dits below Pougets and just above the village of Aloxe, and it is always the more muscular of Rapet's two grand cru reds.

The 2018 Corton Grand Cru offers a lovely blackcurrant, bilberry and violet scented bouquet that displays finely integrated new oak. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fleshy with dark cherry and cassis towards what feels like a slightly overworked finish.
