Tasting Notes and Scores
Offering up notes of crisp apple, lemon oil and smoke, the 2017 Meursault Les Luchets is medium to full-bodied with more texture and flesh on its bones than the Vireuils, though it's similarly tangy and tensile in profile, displaying excellent depth at the core and concluding with a searingly mineral finish. This year's bottling includes for the first time wine produced from a parcel that was replanted in 2006.

This is his biggest holding – more than 1 ha (2.5 acres). Tank sample. Some vines planted 2006, remainder 50–60 years old. In tank on full lees since August. Just a touch mealy/creamy on the nose and a spicy orange note. Creamy on the palate and that lovely ripeness balanced by a crisp line of limey fruit. Rich in the mouth. (JH)
