The 2013 Meursault les Vireuils is clearly a step up in terms of complexity on the nose compared with the village cru, bestowed with more mineralité and precision. The palate is very well balanced, nicely poised, gradually building in the mouth toward the lemongrass-tinged finish. Everything here is in its right place and it should be offering great pleasure straight from the off.

Elegant and charming, the 2013 Meursault Les Vireuils offers up a reserved bouquet of flinty citrus complemented by subtle top notes of honey and apricot. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fine-boned and delicate, with an incisive, tangy profile. It should enjoy a broad drinking window.

Light nose and very finely etched. Very delicate – almost ballerina-like. Fresh and dominated by finesse. Pretty. Refined. Long. (JR)
