The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Cras is a young classic in the making, unfurling in the glass with scents of wild blueberries, raspberries, rose petals, licorice and violets, followed by a medium to full-bodied, layered and textural palate that's deep, mineral and resonant, concluding with a mouthwateringly saline finish. Warmer years in this site have tended to be pretty big-boned wines in recent years, but the 2021 is just impeccably balanced.

The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras 1er Cru has a lively, again, very mineral driven nose. The whole bunches, around two thirds, are neatly integrated. The palate is fresh and quite saline on the entry, and minerally like almost all of Roumier's other 2021s. Very fresh with a harmonious, slightly brittle finish. It is very Cras, one for those that like "old school" Burgundy.

Cask sample. Dark-mid cherry. Deeper, riper red and black fruits; cherry, strawberry, raspberry and black cherry. There is something mineral here, a long complex finish. Tannins very restrained and elegant. Tasty. (MH)
