Tasting Notes and Scores
This vintage is a stunner chez Roumier, and the 2007 Chambolle-Musigny Village is no exception, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of raspberries, sweet forest floor, rose petal and cocoa nib. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, sappy and expansive, with melted tannins and a giving core of fruit.

Tasted at the Domaine. This was racked about six weeks previously and was ready for bottling. Crushed stones on the nose with very good definition – dark fruits with a touch of wild strawberry. Medium-bodied on the palate with a citrus seam. Great poise, this is a Chambolle ready to spring to life with a pointed, slightly floral finish. Drink 2010-2016. Tasted January 2009.

Medium red. Red raspberry, licorice and underbrush on the nose. Sweet and creamy in the mouth; less precise than the 2008 but riper and darker in character, and almost drinkable right now. Finishes broad and sweet, with dusty tannins.

An expressive and notably ripe nose of fresh red berry fruit aromas introduces elegant, fine and minerally middle weight flavors where the tannins are delicate, all wrapped in a focused, precise and persistent finish. This is not especially concentrated but the balance is impeccable. Drink: 2012+
