The 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Les Combottes 1er Cru has a very pure, floral bouquet of mainly dark berry fruit tinctured with subtle hints of pressed iris and incense. Undergrowth scents emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with a crunchy blackberry and raspberry opening, very natural and refined. Not a powerful Les Combottes, but focused on the finish. I would just like a bit more "oomph" once in bottle.

There are four barrels of the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Combottes, a pretty wine that is already coming together nicely, exhibiting attractive aromas of cherries, raspberries and dried flowers. On the palate, it's supple, pure and expansive, with a delicate chassis of fine, chalky tannins. I expect it to gain in depth with further maturation.
