Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Chambertin Clos-de-Bèze Grand Cru has an ethereal beauty on the nose that will surely be enhanced once in bottle and given sufficient bottle age. Stunning delineation despite a tiny reduction that will be addressed during its remaining élevage. The medium-bodied palate has a little more tension and energy than the Chambertin, with brilliant precision yet real concentration and finesse. There is a subtle crescendo towards the finish that lingers tenderly in the mouth. Heavenly.

As usual, the 2022 Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru is more flamboyant than the Chambertin, wafting from the glass with aromas of smoky dark berries, cherries, baking spices, rose petals and raw cocoa. Full-bodied, rich and enveloping, with a broad attack that segues into a deep, layered mid-palate that's framed by powdery tannins and lively acids, it concludes with a long, saline finish.
