Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village has a well-defined bouquet: perfumed red fruit and subtle sous-bois scents percolating through with time. The medium-bodied palate has a slightly powdery entry. It offers more depth and grip than the Clos du Château, with a sprinkling of white pepper on the finish. Enjoy over the next 15 years.

As usual, the 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is a touch deeper and more structured than the Clos du Château, exhibiting notes of sweet red berry compote and plums mingled with spices and vine smoke. Medium-bodied, supple and penetrating, with powdery tannins and a saline finish, it includes fruit from premiers crus Perrières and Etournelles Saint-Jacques.

Cask sample. Mid ruby. Clean fresh nose of red fruits, strawberry, raspberry and cherry. On the palate the fruit is less red and slightly fuller – raspberry, cassis dusted with spice. Actually, some quite big flavours and very definitely 13% abv. (MH)
