Tasting Notes and Scores
Good deep red. Captivating, vibrant aromas of raspberry, flowers, minerals and spicy oak; seems much more primary than the foregoing samples and it's hard to believe that this is just the new oak talking. Pretty, precise and energetic, yet at the same time displaying the creaminess of the vintage. Very pure raspberry, spice and mineral flavors linger impressively on the juicy, very long aftertaste.

Drunk from double-magnum, Rousseau's 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques is showing very well, bursting from the glass with an expressive bouquet of raspberries, red plums, raw cocoa, peonies, sweet soil tones and spicy new oak. Medium to full-bodied, supple and charming, it's an open-knit, expressive wine, its ample core of fruit framed by succulent acids and melting tannins. It's drinking very well already.

A touch of wood spice frames an ultra elegant, cool and mineral suffused red currant, cherry and raspberry nose that complements to perfection the detailed, supple, round and wonderfully classy medium weight flavors that possess positively gorgeous complexity on the sappy, mouth coating and explosively long finish. A wine of harmony and style with outstanding depth.
