Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2019 Montrachet Grand Cru has a clean and precise bouquet that I find less concentrated than either the Bienvenue or Bâtard-Montrachet. There is a very slight minty note that might become more pronounced with time in bottle. The palate is more intense than the nose suggests, slightly honeyed in texture, spicier than the Bâtard with a powerful and persistent finish. I would put it on par with Sauzet’s other Grand Crus rather than ahead, at least at the moment.
