Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2011 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts shows lovely cut and focus in its brilliant aromas and flavors. Citrus, lime, grapefruit and white flowers all jump from the glass. The Referts is distinguished by its mid-palate depth and volume, but I don't quite find the pure finesse of the very best wines here. The competition is tough at Sauzet this year!

This is also markedly ripe though with a different fruit profile as here it is more white than yellow with its aromas of pear liqueur, acacia, lemon and a hint of tangerine. There is also excellent volume and solid mid-palate concentration to the rich, voluminous and palate coating flavors that possess a sophisticated mouth feel on the balanced and impressively persistent finish where a touch of pain grillé surfaces.Drink: 2017+
