Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2018 Marsannay Clos du Roy, which is from a relatively warmer terroir and had been racked two weeks earlier, has a simpler, more straightforward bouquet than the Longeroies and does not offer the same cerebral heft. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, fine acidity, bright red currant and cranberry fruit and a touch of salinity on the finish. Drink over the next six or seven years.
