Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny La Combe d'Orveau 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet that is more floral in style: iris flowers permeating the plump black fruit. Good presence. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, a sweet core of candied red fruit laced with orange zest and a lively, persistent finish. Delicious.

Cask sample. Has a very attractive, open and generous style. No harsh edges here. Voluptuous red-cherry fruit. Fine line of acidity but all in very good balance. Love the purity here. A very elegant Chambolle which delivers on what many perceive as the best qualities of the appellation. Refined and precise – a filigree texture. (AWH)

30% new oak, and barrels of 1, 2 and 3 wines. Cask sample. Mid ruby. Vibrant red fruits on the nose, cherries, pomegranate and raspberry. Real energy running through this. Pure expression of red fruits, driven by fine, crisp acidity (as opposed to the more strident acidity of 2020) . Sapid with a salty, mineral finish. (MH)
