The 2016 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers has a generous bouquet that wants to make up for the depletion in quantity: punnets of strawberries, raspberry preserve, cold stone and crushed flowers. The palate is nicely structured and I agree with Romain Taupenot that is has a Morey-Saint-Denis-like structure. I love the sustain on the finish here and the purity of this Les Pruliers. Not quite up there with the fabulous 2015 Les Prulier...but hey, not far off.

(just five barrels produced vs. a normal nine, as there were substantial crop losses on the Premeaux side of the vineyard): Deep ruby-red. Lively aromas of black cherry, dark raspberry, minerals, licorice and mint. Dense, sappy and sweet, with a complicating saline element to the concentrated flavors of blueberry, licorice, menthol and dark chocolate. Finishes tactile and long, with palate-dusting tannins.
