Tasting Notes and Scores
Dark red berries, crushed flowers, tobacco and menthol infuse Trapet's 2011 Gevrey- Chambertin. This relatively soft, floral Gevrey is an excellent choice for drinking over the next handful of years.

Palish medium red. Musky redcurrant and a whiff of truffle on the nose; smells a bit thin. Supple on the palate, with raspberry and cherry flavors complicated by herbs and earth. Offers decent intensity but the wine's acids and tannins are a bit spiky at present. Suggests a wide range of fruit ripeness.

Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru from Trapet, which is whole-bunch fruit, has a slightly lactic bouquet with hints of chocolate infusing the brambly red berry fruit that does not possess the delineation or freshness of Dujac’s Les Combottes. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins that lend this a fleshy texture and weight, although it needs more precision and detail to develop on the smudged finish.
