Tasting Notes and Scores

90 AG

Bright floral notes and beautifully delineated blue/blackish fruit inform the 2012 Gevrey-Chambertin, a wine that delivers superb quality at its level. The 2012 impresses for its balance and pure energy. Deceptively medium in body, the 2012 has enough depth to drink nicely for a number of years. This is a terrific villages.

(vinified with 20% whole clusters; aging in 20% new oak): Good bright red. Redcurrant, leather and spices on the slightly diffuse nose. Sweet if a bit rustic, with a tart cranberry flavor and a suggestion of leather. Broader than the Marsannay but not quite as precise.
