(60% vendange entier; from young vines in Combottes--30% of which are planted on Riparia rootstock, which Trapet says "pushes ripeness"--Corbeaux, and bits of his other premier crus): Healthy bright, dark red. Musky aromas of raspberry, cherry, underbrush and smoky oak (50% new). Juicy and penetrating, showing lovely cut and palate presence to its flavors of red fruits, spices, earth and minerals. This very vibrant wine finishes with firm but fine tannins, a lightly saline character and lovely floral lift. Suave, nicely balanced premier cru with subtle intensity.
