Tasting Notes and Scores

93.5 ST

Full red. Highly nuanced, perfumed nose hints at red fruits, spices, minerals and flowers. Like liquid silk in the mouth, saturating the entire palate but retaining an almost magically light touch; this is sweet and rich yet dry in the fashion of the best Burgundies. Dense, supple and very long on the aftertaste. Among the world's pinots, only Burgundy can have texture like this.

Mid ruby. Very good complexity and integration even if not especially intense, Something quite raw and citric about it. Chewy and pretty hard work. All as a promise rather than a reality. Is it really such an attribute to be so charmless? I suspect not. Though the finish is good. (JR)
