Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is exceedingly pure on the nose, offering black cherries, bergamot and touches of pomegranate and wonderful mineralité; it’s actually not unlike the Chapelle-Chambertin from Dugat in style. The palate is well balanced with fine-grained tannins. Not a voluptuous Chapelle-Chambertin, but full of nervosité, with a lightly spiced and very persistent finish. Superb.

The most gourmand, generous vintage Tremblay has produced to date, the 2018 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru is a veritable fruit bomb. Bursting with aromas of rich berry fruit, spices, licorice, vine smoke and plums, it's full-bodied, ample and fleshy, with a seamless, enveloping profile and a long, floral finish. Its ripe structuring tannins are almost imperceptible, such is the extent of its mid-palate plentitude. I expect it to become more serious with bottle age, though it offers plenty of pleasure in its hedonistic youth.
