Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2014 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Feusselottes has a very engaging, vivacious bouquet with cold stone/flint scents permeating the red and black fruit - red plum and wild strawberry, later just a hint of violet petals. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin and a lovely seam of acidity that cuts through the mainly dark cherry and boysenberry fruit. Lovely texture here, a little salinity towards the finish, silky smooth and sensual.

(from 60- and 75-year-old vines; vinified with 40% whole clusters, which is less then usual for this cuvée ): Bright, dark red. The most perfumed of these 2014s to this point, offering scents and flavors of black raspberry and violet pastille accented by black pepper. Juicy, shapely and intense, offering excellent delineation and lift. Finishes long and aromatic, leaving the mouth refreshed.

40% whole bunch. Blackish ruby with a pale rim. A bit more restrained and subtle on the nose. Then massive density on the palate. Lots of chew and savour. Really fine wine. Though still with her candied-violets aspect. (JR)
