Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2015 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a delightful bouquet with generous raspberry and wild strawberry aromas, very floral and exuberant with wilted violet scents and iris emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin, crisp acidity and fine cohesion. This is nicely focused, although it just needs a little more substance to "seal the deal" on the finish. It just tapers in a little early and leaves you wanting more. Hopefully that will be addressed with bottle age.

Cask sample. Biodynamic. Lightish crimson. Initially savoury but then sweetened by a gentle oak note on the nose. A hint of something more herbal but not in the least unripe. Supple, fine texture, already so approachable. Real delicacy but no lack of flavour or persistence. Darker and a little more spicy on the finish than at first. (JH)
