The 2012 Marsannay is a very pretty wine to drink over the next handful of years. Gorgeous aromatics meld into sweet red cherries, crushed flowers and spices. The supple, perfumed style is all about grace. There is plenty of near and medium-term appeal here.

(bottled in September): Moderately saturated medium red. Tangy cherry and raspberry on the nose, with a complicating note of smoky minerality. Pungent cranberry and pomegranate flavors show strong, almost tart acidity, along with a musky, earthy quality. No shortage of energy here.
