The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin Petite Chapelle is the most complete of the 1ers from Gevrey. A striking, expressive bouquet melds into layers of dark fruit that caress the palate with notable length. The Petite Chapelle closes with serious substance and gravitas. It could use another few years in bottle but is already highly nuanced.

Good full red. Precise aromas of cherry, sweet spices, game and pepper. Juicy, minerally and peppery on the palate; this is nicely sappy for a 2009. Finishes with firm tannins and very good length.
