The 2014 Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru Aux Charmes has a flamboyant nose with red cherries, wild strawberry and marmalade, the 40% whole cluster fruit embedded with the fruit. The palate is effervescent on the entry with crisp acidity, edgy mineralité with that tongue tingling as if you had licked a limestone rock (try it!). This is excellent.

A notably more elegant array combines notes of sandalwood, violet, red and blue pinot fruit. There is once again good richness to the round yet well-detailed medium weight flavors that terminate in a refreshing, saline, balanced and caressing finish. While this should be capable of rewarding up to a decade of cellaring it should also be approachable young.Drink 2022+.
