Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2022 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru is composed on the nose, nicely focused with subtle crushed stone aromas filtering through the red apple and pear fruit, a little petrichor here. The palate is well-balanced with fine acidity, quite crisp and powerful, though I need to see more precision and nervosité manifest on the finish to warrant a higher score.

Cask sample. Does what it says on the Bâtard tin. Powerful, weighty, concentrated, structured with oak evident but not dominating. Nutty, complex palate with plenty of ripe, succulent fruit. Mineral undertow. Carries the weight with aplomb. (AWH)
