Tasting Notes and Scores
The 2009 Musigny is every bit as fabulous from bottle as it was from barrel. A knock-out bouquet leads to super-ripe, floral infused red berries. The 2009 boasts extraordinary perfume, silky tannins and phenomenal balance. I especially like the understated intensity. This is a breathtaking effort from Pierre Vincent and La Vougeraie.

Tasted out of barrel at the Domaine. Using 80% whole bunches with de-stemming by hand; the Musigny has a lifted, very pure bouquet with raspberry, wild strawberry, crushed stone and a touch of pressed flowers. Very perfumed and beautifully defined. The palate is full-bodied with firm tannins and a sharp citric thread of acidity. There is just a little hardness on the back palate but that will soften with further ageing. Very good backbone and persistency with the finish quite assertive, the mineralite peeking its head over the sensory parapet. Tasted November 2010.
